While masonry paint is a great product, it can be rather difficult to remove. There are many stripper products available for this job, which will break down the masonry paint and allow you to scrape it off. However, it can take some time for these strippers to work their magic on the coating—several days or even a few weeks in some cases. So if your goal is to get the paint off as quickly as possible, we advise that you just go with a chemical remover. These usually remove masonry paint in one application, which is obviously much better than days or weeks of scraping.

The masonry paint stripper are relatively safe to use and cost effective, but they do need a thorough rinse off with water afterwards. After picking a method of getting rid of the paint, it is important to make sure that the right application is used. Most commonly the paint stripper can be applied using a brush onto the brick or concrete surface. For more detail, please refer to the info-graphic below.
